What Boxing Strength and Conditioning Actually Is

A boxer does not need a generic gym plan with a few bag rounds added at the end. Boxing has its own demands: repeated footwork, punch volume, sharp rotation, shoulder endurance, posture, decision-making, and the ability to recover between exchanges. Your conditioning must respect those demands. Your strength work must give you more options without turning you into a tired, sore version of yourself.

That is why the question is never just, “What exercises are best?” The better question is: what does the boxer need right now, and what can he recover from while keeping skill work high? An athlete with dead legs before sparring does not need another lower-body grinder.
